Cucumbers are the fourth most cultivated vegetable in the
world and known to be one of the best foods for your body's overall health,
often referred to as a superfood.
Cucumber contains 95% water.Its basically a salad item and
most commonly used vegetable.The high water content helps to fight the heat in
the summer.
Cucumber face masks have a soothing and hydrating effect on the skin.
Cucumber has many faceted benefits when applied on the skin. It tightens the
skin and strengthens the connective skin tissues. If used as a scrub, cucumber
loosens blackheads, removes dark circles and under eye puffs. The nutrients in
cucumber replenishes our skin naturally thus, making it look younger and
vibrant. Cucumber water acts as a toner and closes open pores that are a source
of oil that attracts dirt to the skin and causes problems.

For Oily Skin:
- Combine 1 tsp of turmeric, 1/2 cup cucumber pulp and also a teaspoon of freshly squeezed Lemon juice. Apply on face and leave it for 15 minutes and wash off with warm water. You may also add a egg to this paste.
- Mix yogurt and cucumber pulp to create a paste. Apply on face and leave it for 15 minutes. Wash off with water.
- Acne Pack: Mix a tbsps of cucumber liquid with rose water and multani mitti (fuller’s earth). Use it on face and leave it for 15 minutes and wash off with warm water.
For Dry Skin:
- Mix a tbsp of oatmeal with cucumber pulp. To this add honey or malai. Apply on face and leave it for 15 minutes and wash off with warm water.
- In a clean bowl, take 2 teaspoons of thick unsweetened yogurt and add one teaspoon finely grated cucumber to it. Stir to make a mixture. Apply this to the face and leave for 20 minutes. Two Tablespoons curd, ½ tbsp honey, 1 tbsp lemon

on face and leave it for 15 minutes and wash off with warm water.
For All Skins:
- Take 1 tbsp oatmeal and mix it with some grated cucumber. Add a few tbsp of buttermilk and lemon juice to form a thick paste . Apply on face and leave it for 15 minutes and wash off with warm water.
- Make mint and cucumber paste separately. In a clean bowl, add one teaspoon each of the pastes and half a teaspoon honey. Blend all of these together to form a smooth mix. Apply a thick layer of the mixture to the face and lie down for half an hour. It penetrates the skin deeply and hydrates from within. The mint leaves behind a very nice smell and fresh feel too.
For Skin Brightening:
For the mask, take fresh peeled aloe vera and half cucumber
in a grinder pot. Blend to form a smooth paste. If the paste is very runny, add
half teaspoon sandalwood powder to make it thick. Clean the skin and apply the
mask. Leave to dry; then rinse with cool water. If the skin feels stretchy,
apply moisturizer. The pack will lighten and brighten the skin with regular
use.
For Blemishes:
- Grate cucumber finely and extract its juice by pressing between the palms. To one teaspoon oats, add the cucumber juice and keep aside so that oats become soft. Add one teaspoon lemon juice to the moist oats and mix well. Clean the skin and apply the paste evenly. Rinse with ice cold water after 20-25 minutes. This is a very effective pack that cleanses blemishes and reduces dark and uneven patches from the skin with regular use.
- Get a
gentle fruit massage on your face at home with this fruit face pack. Chop
the cucumber, avocado and tomato finely, and add a few drops of honey into
it. Apply this fruit face mask and leave for 20-25 minutes on your face to
